Memorial Day has come and gone and now most of us are returning to work after the long weekend. Many consider Memorial Day weekend to be the unofficial start to summer.
We start to spend our time hiking, going to the beach, and enjoying our time outdoors. We swap our plain jackets for flowy skirts, denim shorts, and bright colors.
I have always loved neutral colors, but I always feel the urge to spice things up when it comes to summertime.
Besides, who said moms couldn’t dress in trendy fits?
Here are some summer clothing brands that I love that you can definitely rock this summer.
Selva Negra
Selva Negra was founded by Kristen Gonzalez, a Mexican-Filipino American. Her vision was to create sustainable fashion, and she has stayed committed to her mission of reducing water waste and minimizing the fashion carbon footprint.
Selva Negra offers neutral and pastel-colored clothing, making them versatile and timeless pieces that you can use for years to come.
Lulu’s
I don’t know what it is about the last two years or so that stores only seem to take out clothes missing the bottom half of their shirts.
I mean, all the power to you if you like to wear crop tops that resemble bras. But, for us moms who like to leave more to the imagination while also looking trendy, Lulu’s has a wide assortment of clothing.
From sundresses to skorts, your wardrobe will be ready for the summer.
This brand is not afraid to play with color and does not focus solely on the boring, albeit trendy, monochrome look.
Zara
Zara is a Spanish-based retailer that is available in many countries. One look at their website, and you will find trendy pieces, satin finishes, and even workwear.
If you like to play with funky prints and colors, this is the store for you. I personally love all the accessories they offer to help complete your summertime look.
H&M
H&M is a great store to shop for basics. In the hot summer months, sometimes all you need is a basic white tee, comfortable denim shorts, gold jewelry accents, and you’re good to go.
Lucky for us, H&M has it all. I love how they have basic, dainty jewelry and purses that will go with any outfit you come up with.
Sometimes, we get lost in trends and buy cheetah print purses or beaded flower chokers, and you come to realize you can’t wear them all the time.
PacSun
PacSun is marketed as a store for young adults, and I often get stares when I walk into the store, but to be honest, I don’t care.
Fashion has no age limitations. If you like it, wear it and flaunt it.
PacSun sells swimwear, graphic tees, and jeans, amongst other things. Picture outfits you’d wear for a nice walk in a beach town or a pier.
We’re definitely in love with these summer clothing brands. Moms, let’s abandon the “mom jeans” stereotype and wear whatever we want, si?
