This “spooky pasta with meatballs” is effortless, and it doesn’t require adding extra ingredients to the weekly meal plan. Just cook the pasta as you usually do and give it a mysterious touch. Your kids will be surprised (maybe even delighted!) to see their dinner looking at them. Enjoy, and Happy Halloween!

Preparation time: 20 min
Cook time: 20 min
Total time: 40
Servings: 4

  • 9 oz.
  • large meatballs, cooked
  • 2 cups
    tomato sauce
  • mozzarella balls, sliced
  • green olives, pitted
  • 1 tsp.
  • 1/2 tsp.
  • 10-15 drops
    black food coloring

  1. Cook linguine or pasta of your preference according to package directions. Remove it from the water slightly before it's al dente.

  2. Add 10 to 15 drops of black food coloring to the pasta. Mix gently. Rinse the pasta with warm water

  3. To create the eyes, merely place slices of mozzarella cheese on the previously cooked and still warm meatballs.

  4. Place a slice of olive on the mozzarella to create the pupils. Let the mozzarella soften a little on the warm meatball so that it adheres easily to it.

  5. Serve the pasta, add the tomato sauce, and place the meatballs in the sauce. And just like that, dinner is ready!
