Have you ever woken up with what seems to be a sudden surge of confidence? You feel energized by this unforeseen sense of mental clarity. You look at yourself in the mirror, and you see a happy, successful, and healthy person.
You now feel the spirit not only to take care of your family but also to tend to your own needs. The struggles that plagued you in the past are no longer casting a shadow on your life, and you can say with orgullo that you have overcome these obstacles. Amiga, this is the beginning of you reaching your prime.
Pay attention to your wellbeing
When you are in your prime, you are in an optimal state of wellbeing. You are strong, capable, and relishing in this moment of physical health and stamina.
Being in your prime is often dubbed as being “at your peak,” many believing this to be between the ages of 25-35. All the years of hard work have finally landed you a successful role at work that allows you to enjoy the fruit of your labor. Your identity is no longer rooted in being in a constant survival mode. Instead, you are thriving. You broke free of generational trauma and cut off all toxic tias and primos from your life, and broke off any toxic behaviors you didn’t want to pass down to your children. You are experiencing pure bliss because you are no longer preoccupied with people or things that were once affecting your mental health negatively.
Exploration of identity is heightened
As moms, it is easy to lose ourselves out of sheer love towards our children. We want everything to go perfectly in their lives, and you spend your days trying to find ways to create the perfect childhood. This may leave you thinking that it is impossible to be in your prime while being a mom. On the contrary, you achieve this because motherhood allows you to explore all the depths of your identity. You learn about the profound magnitude of love and how you can extend that from your children to yourself as well. After all, adults that consider themselves to have had a happy childhood have parents that took care of themselves and prioritized mental health and their wellbeing.
You are in more control than ever
Many people look back at their prime with nostalgia because they believe it was the best time in their lives. However, you are in control of your own destiny. Instead of thinking your prime is dependent upon a specific age, allow it to be something that is achieved by all your success and self-love. Continue exercising, try new things, and never stop chasing after your dreams. Do this, and you will always find ways to feel this elated sense of accomplishment. What do you think, amiga? Are you in your prime?
