Do you ever get home and te provoca salir corriendo? After all, we should all be wary of motherhood depression, especially those of us who are stay-at-home moms. So it’s essential to be as mindful as possible with all of what’s going on around us.
Every single visual stimulus that you see brings you this sense of uneasiness — the pile of new clothes you don’t know where to put away, the counter filled with countless beauty products, and toys strewn across the floor.
The safe space that is your home no longer feels this way. It feels more like another thing to cross off your already overflowing to-do list. Therefore, you become desesperada with the preoccupation of all the house chores you have to do.
In these cases, the need to declutter becomes evident to harmonize your physical and mental environment. If you don’t know how to begin, I am right there with you. I can recall feeling as though I was drowning before I got into the habit of clearing up the space me and my family share.
So, since I know that some of us need an extra push, I’ve compiled some tips to help you get started.
Clear Your Home Of Unnecessary Clutter
When you least expect it, your home becomes full of clutter. Start decluttering one area at a time. “Marie Kondo” your home if you must. Throw away things you no longer use. Amiga, I know we want to display all the arts and crafts projects our children bring us from school. Instead of leaving them thrown around, create a scrapbook with all these pieces to cherish these memories for years to come. Organize items using storage bins to create a designated area for each category of items.
Having a home free of clutter makes your mental environment feel at peace because you no longer have the stress of constantly picking up.
Focus On The Moment
In our busy lives, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the myriad of tasks we must accomplish everyday. This can quickly turn chaotic because we try to complete various things at the same time. Instead, focus on one task at a time. Prioritize your day based on your family’s needs. By freeing your mind off your entire agenda, you cleanse your mind of unnecessary stress.
Limit Your Spending
Thanks to social media platforms such as Tik Tok (my kids call me “cringe” for being a Tik Tok mom, but that’s fine) and Instagram; there are many influencers constantly recommending products you must buy. However, this can lead to a house full of stuff you do not use. Instead of purchasing products to try out because it worked well for someone else, research and invest in one good product that you truly believe will work for you. This will help you maintain a physical space that is not overflowing with things you never use.
Decluttering is clearly not mutually exclusive to creating a tidy home. It also provides benefits to your overall mental environment and health. Let’s focus on making this year a harmonious one in which we enjoy the space we live in, les parece?
