
Talking about alcohol and partying is redundant in Latin America. Maybe it is the weather or simply the Latin American’s resilience, but there is no doubt that no one knows how to set the mood in a gathering like a Latin American does.
That is why cocktails have been one of the booming industries in the Southern Cone countries, boosted by the tradition of good rum and the great diversity of tequilas.
This month we bring you the six best cocktail recipes inspired by Latin American products to ignite passion and good humor.

Paloma
Ingredients:
– 2 ounces of tequila (or mescal)
– 2 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice
– 2 ounces of club soda
– Lime juice
– 1 teaspoon of sugar, if preferred
Technique:
Shake the first four ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Then pour into a glass filled with large ice cubes and top with grapefruit soda. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit or lime. Cheers!

Caipirinha
Ingredients:
– 2 oz. Cachaça
– 4-5 wedges of lime
– 3/4 oz. simple syrup
Technique:
Muddle lime and simple syrup, add Cachaça, and shake well with ice. Pour into an Old Fashioned rocks glass.

Mezcalina/Mezcariña
Ingredients:
– 2 oz (60 ml) Mezcal
– 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) Lime juice
– 1/2 oz (15 ml) sugar syrup * 2 slices of cucumber with skin * 2 slices of cucumber with skin
– 2 cucumber slices with skin
– 3 slices of ginger without skin
– 4 mint leaves
– Mineral water
– 2 or 3 dashes of Angostura
Technique:
In a mixing glass, add the cucumber cut into cubes, ginger, lime juice, and Mezcal, crush with a pestle and mortar, add the mint leaves and crush gently, add ice and mix with a spoon.

Pisco Sour
Ingredients:
– 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice
– 1 ounce of rubber syrup
– 1/4 ounce egg white
– 4 ice cubes
Technique:
Shake all ingredients in a shaker for 12 to 15 seconds. Serve in a previously iced glass and pour in three times to avoid too much foam. Garnish the pisco sour with three drops of Angostura bitters, as it counteracts the egg’s aroma.

Macua
Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 oz Flor de Caña 4-Year-Old Rum
– 1 oz Guava juice
– 1 oz Orange juice
– 1/2 oz Lemon juice
– 3/10 oz Simple syrup
– Garnish: Orange slice
– Garnish: Candied cherry
Technique:
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake well for 20 to 30 seconds. Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange slice and a candied cherry.
