The holidays are approaching, and if there’s one thing we Latinos know how to do, it’s to party. Whether with family or friends, nothing adds that extra touch to any gathering, party, or dinner like a good cocktail — even more so if we prepare it ourselves.
And we Latina moms are no slouches.
In all my years as a mother, I have learned that a good cocktail is not only a life-saver at social gatherings but also a way to pamper ourselves after a hard day or during the weekend when the kids are out.
With or without alcohol, here are our five favorite cocktails for Latina Moms.

Avo-tini Cocktail
This is a cocktail like no other, with that Latino touch that characterizes us. Very simple and easy to prepare, the avo-tini cocktail is perfect for those days when you don’t have much time.
You’ll only need Vodka, fresh lime juice, a little syrup, avocado, and jicama to garnish. Full recipe at Hispanic Kitchen.

Rose Lemon Spritzer
The Rose Lemon Spritzer is a cocktail for people with a more sensitive palate looking for smooth flavors. The Rose Lemon Spritzer, as its name says, is a very subtle, refreshing, and delicate cocktail ideal for a girls’ night out or celebrations such as a baby shower. It is very easy and quick to prepare. It won’t take you more than five minutes to make it.
With a very short ingredient list and things you probably already have at home: a little vodka, honey, rose water, lemon juice, a couple of drops of pomegranate juice, sparkling water, and rose petals for garnish—full recipe at Half Baked Harvest.

Blueberry Mojito
This recipe brings the classic mojito with a twist and lots of colors. This is an ideal mocktail for moms who still want to enjoy something traditional without alcohol, but with all the flavor and just as refreshing.
A very easy-to-follow recipe with just a few ingredients: blueberries, mint leaves, sugar, lemon juice, ice, and club soda. Full recipe at The Merry Thought.

Bloody Mary
The Bloody Mary is every Latina mother’s classic. As unique as its name, this cocktail is not for everyone because of its spicy touch and its main ingredient, tomato juice. However, this recipe promises to win everybody’s heart.
You will only need some vodka, clamato juice, lemon, hot sauce, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, you will only need to mix all the ingredients, shake, and that’s it! It won’t take you more than five minutes—full recipe at Spritz and Spice.

Some Like It Hot!
This cocktail is for those who enjoy something extra spicy and daring. Very easy to prepare, you’ll only need tequila, lime juice, jalapeño-infused agave nectar, and raspberries—full recipe at Hispanic Kitchen.
Remember that we should consume alcohol in moderation, and if you prefer, you can turn all these recipes into mocktails and enjoy them with all the flavor and guilt-free.
