Life is a dance without a routine. We are constantly moving around to get into the rhythm of things and there are seasons where it’s easier than others.
From tending to the house, working, and raising a healthy family, it can all become a blur. I don’t know about you, amigas, but some nights, I can barely hear myself think because the toys, video games, and chatter from my house are too overwhelming. You know what I mean, right?
It may seem that after we become mothers there aren’t many chapters for us to turn into, but that’s far from it. Motherhood is only one of them — a really important one — just not the end of our story.
This is why I want to talk about the moments where we feel like we are getting the swing of things. Let’s think of the days where nothing has spilled, there isn’t a tantrum in sight, and you’ve actually brushed your hair. Well, that’s my personal example, but I’m talking about whatever seems to happen when things are clicking. These are the moments that we should recognize because that means a new chapter is at bay for us, bringing new opportunities, lessons, and more.
Though it is evident at times, it isn’t always that way. So, let’s check out ways to decipher whether you are entering your next chapter.
A wave of energy comes through
We all know that as mothers we are ALWAYS tired. I don’t care how much coffee you drink or how many miles you run after you’ve dropped off the kids at school; the exhaustion is real. Goodness. But every time I know that something new is about to come into my life – and that will be a positive addition to it — I get a surge of energy. It’s as if our ancestors are pumping me up so I can get ready for what’s to come.
One of the most recent times this happened was when I was applying to a few remote jobs to work from home while taking care of my kids — child care costs are too much at this point, and this is the best bet for new mothers. I was losing my mind at the beginning because I did not feel confident. However, after a couple of interviews, I realized what I needed to say and add to my resume, which gave me immense confidence. With that came an overload of energy, which helped me apply for jobs on record time. I didn’t know it then, but I was turning the page to the next step in my life. Now, I have a stable job — from home — and it’s definitely a game-changer for my family and me.
Motivation is boosted to the max
Once you’re filled up with more energy than you know what to do with, motivation follows. Of course, this newfound and often short-lived influx of energy is used on the daily tasks at home. But once you’ve gotten to your priorities, your mommy brain will be buzzing with motivation. It will urge you to look at different avenues — whether that’s a job, going back to school, or even figuring out your relationship status — your drive will take you where you need to go. If you are feeling extra motivational lately, know that things should be looking up for you; that’s just the name of the game. And if you believe in manifesting, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Family is onboard
The best part about entering a new stage in life is the support around it. However, I’m not naive and know that not every family dynamic is supportive, but look out for those family members who do pay attention to your goals and aspirations. Those are the ones that will nurture your mind and fuel you with the right emotions. This will jumpstart whatever is waiting for you.
Of course, a lot of this is believing, as cliche as that may sound. But you have to understand that those simple affirmations we hear thrown around all the time like “anything is possible if you put your mind to it” work beyond our younger years. It even works on anyone ready to show the world more of their worth — including Latina moms.
