Top 10 Valentines Gift Ideas For Her

in Family on 01/31/18

By Arlene Mendoza

Valentine’s Day is weeks away and now is the time to start thinking of what to get for that special someone. Wether it’s for your mom, wife, girlfriend, sister, aunt, friend or co-worker, you better start planning now. My advice is to take your time and really pay attention to that special someone.

I’ve put together a list of gift ideas that I am sure any woman in your life would truly enjoy and appreciate.

Beats Headphones- Beats are a great gift for the fitness lover in your life. This is a gift you know she will love and use on a daily basis. Not only that but she will appreciate you thinking of the little things that will make her workouts that much better.

Take a Cooking Class- If you do your research in time, you can join a cooking class in your area. This is a special surprise for foodies. Most classes are kept small between couples so that you may enjoy your time creating a stunning three-course meal and mingle with the other couples. It’s the perfect gift and dinner in one.

Smart Battery Case- This is one of my favorites. Think about it: women use their phone all day long. There is nothing worse than wanting to take a picture of your kids or having to make a call only to realize you are on 5% battery. I have the Apple Smart Battery Case and it has been a life saver.

Kylie Cosmetics- This brand has been all the hype since it launched last year so why not surprise her with some goodies from Kylie Cosmetics? You can always get a Sephora gift card, but the key here is to think outside the box and give her something she won’t expect.

Spa Gift Certificate- Who doesn’t love a good massage? This is a gift idea that will never go wrong. Give the gift of pampering and relaxation. You can always make it extra special by adding a manicure and pedicure to go with that massage. Trust me you will make her day!

Designer Shoes- Ever heard the saying chocolate is good, but shoes are carb-free? If you really want to splurge on her for Valentine’s day you will never go wrong with a pair of designer shoes. The Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps are a winner! She will literally love you for the rest of your life.

Camera/ Lens- Moms and women in general love taking pictures. A DSLR camera would make an incredible gift. There’s an article that says that women have triple the amount of pictures on their phone than men. It sounds crazy but I actually have 3,000 pictures in my phone as i’m writing this (yikes!). If she already has a camera, a new lens would be a great alternative. Lenses could make all the difference in the kind of pictures she wants to take.

Take a Painting Class- Surprise her after dinner with a painting session at Painting with a Twist. You will be able to spend some quality time together, painting and sipping on wine. This is a perfect gift not only for couples, but it’s an experience you can enjoy with friends as well.

Pandora Charm- Pandora has a variety of charms for that special someone. These make beautiful gifts because every charm translates a special moment in someone’s life.

Roses and Chocolates- If all else fails, you can always go with the classic roses and chocolates. Make it interesting; send them to her job, or have them delivered to her before your date. While we find it romantic if you come home with roses, something about receiving them while you are not present is more significant.

I used to live in San Juan. I was a flight attendant and it was an amazing time 😍🥰

I remember calling my mom and telling her “the call patacones tostones here and they don’t think I know what it is.”😂😂

Non-profit organizations are a crucial element in Non-profit organizations are a crucial element in building healthy and thriving communities. It's not about demagogic philanthropy or fiscal stratagems; it's a real support network that ends up becoming the voice of the people they serve.

As the National Council of Nonprofits explains, America's 1.3 million charitable nonprofits feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status, from coast to coast, border to border, and beyond.

"They foster civic engagement and leadership, drive economic growth, and strengthen the fabric of our communities. Every single day," the NCN adds.

Today we honor those affected and raise awareness Today we honor those affected and raise awareness about human trafficking and forced labor across the United States.

LatinX communities are at increased risk for human trafficking. Some stats by the National Human Trafficking Hotline reveal that 77% of confirmed Latin Americans and Caribbeans are easy targets for traffickers. The remaining 23% are victims of sex trafficking or a combination of sex and labor trafficking.

In terms of where most of these victims come from, six out of ten possible victims from Latin America and the Caribbean come from Mexico. The industry where they are most vulnerable is agriculture.

And not only is the Latinx community at elevated risk of being targeted for human trafficking, but too often, law enforcement and immigration officials seem to miss opportunities to identify and prevent trafficking attempts.

If this cause is close to your heart, you can learn more about identifying a victim at: dhs.gov/blue-campaign/identify-victim
