Best of 2017 – Holiday Gift Guide For Kids

in Celebrations, School Years on 11/21/17

This Holiday season, we moms have a very important mission: lending Santa a hand in choosing our kids’ gifts! To make your life easier, Walmart is focused on saving you time and money, offering you a tremendous variety of shopping options and services like free 2-Day Shipping (gifts will be at your doorstep or at the store in no time at all) and layaway. Walmart also offers incredible rollbacks that will be available throughout the holiday season, and Walmart’s Holiday Helpers and live product demonstrations will be sure to enhance your shopping experience.

And now, we present you with the trendiest, most wanted toys and gifts you can’t miss this year – all at affordable prices and guaranteed to provide the little ones with a unique and fun experience. Let’s go shopping, mom!

  1. FurReal Roarin' Tyler, the Playful Tiger

If you’re looking to teach your kids the responsibility of taking care of a pet, why not start with an exotic animal? Tyler the Playful Tiger is an interactive toy that provides your little ones with hours of fun, thanks to its ability to respond to sounds and movement; when you talk to it, pet it, and play with it, it almost surely will reply with a loud growl, a shake of its head, and other sounds and movements! Not only will it allow them to spend some independent play time while you’re busy, but it will also encourage them to care for and protect their new friend. Ideal for kids over 4 years.

  2. Hatchimals Surprise (Walmart exclusive)

Speaking of responsibilities, the adorable toys from Hatchimals will keep your kids entertained through every step of their development. The egg itself is super cute, and their new pet will be a fun surprise! The little ones will have to care for them even before they hatch, while they’re being born and as they grow up. The unique thing about a Hatchimal is that it is designed to interact with songs, sounds and movements… and everything that your kids teach them. If you’re expecting a baby, it’s also a fun way to help the older siblings to adapt to the coming changes.

Non-profit organizations are a crucial element in Non-profit organizations are a crucial element in building healthy and thriving communities. It's not about demagogic philanthropy or fiscal stratagems; it's a real support network that ends up becoming the voice of the people they serve.

As the National Council of Nonprofits explains, America's 1.3 million charitable nonprofits feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status, from coast to coast, border to border, and beyond.

"They foster civic engagement and leadership, drive economic growth, and strengthen the fabric of our communities. Every single day," the NCN adds.

Today we honor those affected and raise awareness Today we honor those affected and raise awareness about human trafficking and forced labor across the United States.

LatinX communities are at increased risk for human trafficking. Some stats by the National Human Trafficking Hotline reveal that 77% of confirmed Latin Americans and Caribbeans are easy targets for traffickers. The remaining 23% are victims of sex trafficking or a combination of sex and labor trafficking.

In terms of where most of these victims come from, six out of ten possible victims from Latin America and the Caribbean come from Mexico. The industry where they are most vulnerable is agriculture.

And not only is the Latinx community at elevated risk of being targeted for human trafficking, but too often, law enforcement and immigration officials seem to miss opportunities to identify and prevent trafficking attempts.

If this cause is close to your heart, you can learn more about identifying a victim at: dhs.gov/blue-campaign/identify-victim
