September marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, and with that come thoughts and reflection on the meaning of Latino culture and all those notable figures in our community making a difference.
Of course, we should celebrate Latinos all year long and not only during one month of the year. However, you can’t deny that during this time, we reflect on those things that make us proud to be Latinos, especially during this era of social media.
Social media has allowed us to connect with people with our same traditions and values and watch how they honor their heritage through their lenses. This is especially the case for those Latino blended families that have their lives built on love and harmony. These families look past race and ethnicity and focus on people’s integrity and values.
Here are some of these Latino blended families you should follow on Instagram.

@mayraaarelii follows the journey of Mayra and Aaron, better known as the MARS family. Mayra is from Mexico, and Aaron is American. They became viral on Tik-Tok and Instagram after a series of videos where her now-husband, Aaron, would try to speak Spanish to her mom and dad and try to fit in with her family.
They upload such hilarious and wholesome content that shows how they have come together and embraced each other’s cultures and traditions.
Unfortunately, Mayra’s dad passed away earlier this year, but the family has stuck together and leaned on each other for support every step of the way.
Love truly does prevail in the MARS family.
