This is part of a sponsored campaign between Welch’s and Latina Moms.
The blazing heat of the summer sun can sometimes be too much to handle, especially for kids. It’s time to beat the heat of summer with refreshing and delicious summer beverages. We love Welch’s juices because they are an excellent source of Vitamin C and best of all; they are available in tropical flavors that are perfect for any time – at the pool, beach, or just having fun indoors. You can find Welch’s Juices in the refrigerated aisle of your grocery store.
We love Welch’s juices as-is, poured in a glass or to make frosty treats, such as slushies or icees that the whole family can enjoy by the pool or after a day at the beach. Today, we are going to show you how to make three different flavored slushies with Welch’s refrigerated juices that kids will love.

Berry Pineapple Passion Fruit Slushie
This yummy recipe is perfect to make on a summer camping trip. Kids will love making their own slushie in a zipper bag!
Ingredients/Items:
- About 2 cups of ice cubes (large pieces)
- 2 tablespoons rock salt
- 1 cup Welch’s Berry Pineapple Passion Fruit juice (found in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store)
- 2 fresh strawberries
- 2 zipper bags — a quart-sized bag and a sandwich-sized bag.
Instructions:
- Place ice cubes and salt in a quart-sized zipper bag.
- Place juice in a sandwich-sized zipper bag, press out all the air and seal tightly.
- Important: The ice, salt, and Welch’s Berry Pineapple Passion Fruit refrigerated juice do not go in the same bag.
- You will have two separate bags. The quart bag will be filled with ice and salt, and the sandwich-sized bag with juice.
- Place the small bag of juice inside of the larger bag of ice and salt. Then, seal well.
- Ultimately, the larger bag will be holding the ice, salt, and the bag of juice.
- Shake for about 3-5 minutes or until the juice has a slushie-like consistency. If it gets too cold, wrap a dishcloth (trapo de cocina) around it and continue shaking.
- Slide the fresh strawberry onto the rim of the cup.
- Pour slush into the cup and serve immediately.
