By now, you are probably worn down from all the summertime preparations.
You have been stressing about the end of the school year projects, awards ceremonies, finding a summer camp, and simply planning activities for the long two and a half months that your children will be at home.
You probably haven’t realized that the official start of summer has not happened yet. The summer solstice, which falls on June 21st, marks the official beginning of the summer. The solstice also marks the longest day of the year.
While running around after your children and trying to juggle your full-time job, it may feel like any other regular day.
However, if you genuinely sync with the environment and the changing seasons, you will notice the deep significance behind the solstice.
Now that you are aware of this upcoming date, here is a ritual that will help you regain your energies before the summer.
Deep Clean Your House
The summer solstice is associated with rebirth and new beginnings. Use this time to truly deep clean your house.
Throw away things that you no longer use. Get rid of all those items you are holding onto that don’t bring you joy.
Decluttering your space to become a place that brings you warmth and peace is a great way to re-energize and prepare for the summer.
Gather With Friends
With the celebration of light comes the reminder of staying close to those who matter the most. This summer solstice, host a small gathering at your home to remind yourself of all the beautiful things and friendships life has offered you.
If you don’t want to have people over (and I wouldn’t blame you, seeing as you just deep cleaned your house), you can try going to a local bonfire or the beach.
Many places host events during the solstice or full moons. Gather around and enjoy this time. Truly bask in the energy of the solstice and breathe in all the positivity and hope for the future it provides.
Plant a Garden
The summer solstice reminds us about the beauty of life and growth. Planting a garden is a tribute to nature and the environment.
You start putting your love and energy towards something that will blossom, and this anticipation will have you feeling energized for the summer.
Don’t have backyard space? No problem! You can try buying plants such as succulents that you can put on your balcony or patio.
Amiga, let’s work on our spirituality and notice your life flourish.
