Kissing is an art form. There are good kissers, passionate kissers and just plain terrible kissers. We all kiss a little differently, and some are more compatible together than others. So what does your kissing style say about your partner? Do you love to be kissed a certain way but your partner likes some other type of kisses? Do you know what different kisses mean? You may not think much about the way that you kiss, but it could reveal a whole lot more about you and your relationship.
Because kissing is such an integral part of our relationships and much-needed physical contact, it makes total sense that people have come up with so many different ways to kiss. And, naturally, each type of kiss can reveal an enormous amount about the kissing pair.
“A man’s kiss is his signature” said Hollywood Icon Mae West. But how do you decode what your man is trying to say with his lip-locking technique? Read on for 7 different ways of kissing and what each says about your partner!
Standard French Kiss
The king of kisses, this classic lip lock is all about exploration – both literally and figuratively. Moving your open lips against each other with some tongue interplay can be very sweet, very hot, very passionate, or all of the above. Studies say men tend to prefer the French kiss more than women because the open mouth allows a man to dose a woman with small amounts of the libido-raising testosterone.
With a soft bite on lower lip, the nibble kiss is all about being playful. This kiss shows an underlying passion that is often best expressed physically. If this is one of your man’s “go to” move, you guys likely have a healthy, and perhaps athletic, sex life. You don’t mind being a little rough with each other, which will add even more spice to your bedroom antics.
Wet and sloppy
Is there anything worse than the sloppy kisser? This overly wet kiss usually leaves you unsatisfied, and grossed out. Basically, the kisser opens their mouth as wide as possible, rolls their tongue all around and down their partner’s throat and then, inexplicably, slides it all over their poor partner’s face. Although these type of kissers tend to be loyal in their relationships and may actually prove to be excellent spouse material, it also can indicate poor performance behind closed doors. Yikes!
According to experts at MedicalDaily.com, if you’re smooching with your peepers open, you could be missing out on the whole kissing experience! Most people kiss with their eyes closed, and it can be offputting to lock lips with someone who has their eyes wide open. A recent study from Royal Holloway, University of London (RHU) presented a possible scientific explanation for our natural preference for closed-eyed kissing. According to the researchers, focusing on visual stimuli – meaning: kissing with eyes open – can cause sensory numbness. So, as not to lose out on any of the sensations associated with kissing, certain sacrifices must be made, so keep them closed and enjoy the moment!
If you realize that the other person never closes their eyes when you kiss them, it could mean that they are a spectator rather than a participant!
Rapid Tongue Syndrome
Also known as “propeller tongue”, this predicament pops up when you’re French-kissing a guy who only knows how to move his tongue in one speed, one rhythm and one direction. While it shows enthusiasm, when a guy kisses a woman in this style, it means he’s not as in tune with you as you’d thought.
Single Lip Kiss
The kiss that personifies true love. This gentle kiss focuses on kissing only one of their partner’s lips at a time. The Single-Lip Kiss is a kiss that is truly all about love. Rather than diving into a more aggressive kiss, each person focuses on kissing only one of their partner’s lips at a time.
Old hollywood kiss
This kiss is what movie magic is made of! He leans in, bends you backward with one hand holding the small of your back, and the other placed gently against the side of your face. *Sigh* Experts say that men who cup your face in their hands are romantic souls and usually intense, passionate lovers who want full, reciprocal focus. Yeah, it’s a fun one.
