Are you one of those moms that rely on her phone to function? You wake up and immediately glance over at your phone. You go through the notifications in your apps and repeat before going to bed.
This part of your morning routine is just as important as your warm cup of coffee.
You not only use your phone to communicate with loved ones, but it is almost like a life source for you. You set your alarm on it, count your steps, and scroll through social media when you need a break.
If you are constantly relying on your phone, why not use it for other benefits as well? There is a myriad of apps for moms that you can use on your phone that will help organize your life and help you keep your kids entertained.
Cozi
Balancing motherhood, the household, and a long list of to-dos is no easy feat. As a mom, you have to keep up with doctor’s appointments, soccer practice, parent-teacher conferences, grocery lists, and so much more.
With the Cozi app, you can easily organize your tasks and thoughts. It is a family organizer and ideal app for moms which consists of a shared family calendar, so you know where everyone is and where you need to be, a shared grocery list, and shopping/to-do lists. You can even store recipes so dinner time can be a breeze.
The Happy Child-Parenting App
Moms, hear me out. I know we often think we can juggle the world’s weight on our shoulders, but who are we trying to impress? I mean, seriously. Forget about those mom-shamers that say you should not rely on technology to help you with parenting.
The Happy Child-Parenting App is a parenting app, and one of our fav apps for moms, that gives you access to the latest research on Psychology, Neuroscience, and Pediatrics. They post daily information that can teach you how to interact with your children and cope with various situations thrown at you.
Instead of Googling what to do and struggling to find a reputable source, you can rest assured that this app will only provide you with research-oriented information that is not opinion-based.
Khan Academy Kids
Khan Academy Kids is an educational app for preschool-age children until they’re around eight. It is an excellent tool for early childhood education as it has a variety of school lessons in many subjects, such as reading, math, and writing.
The curriculum is colorful and uses games and fun graphics to engage children in learning. This is a great app to have on your phone to entertain your children while also engaging them with fun games for learning.
Find My Friends
For those moms that have an iPhone, Find My Friends is an excellent safety app. It allows you to see where your partner and children are at all times. One of the cons is that since it is a default app for iOS devices only, I feel so much more at ease knowing where my husband and children are.
It also helps you track any items you have connected an Apple Tag to, so if you are a person who misplaces her keys a lot, add an apple tag to your keychain, and this app will tell you where it is next time you lose them.
Family Album
Mija, I don’t know about you, but I need to photographically document almost every moment of life. One look at my camera roll, and you will find THOUSANDS of pictures and videos of just about anything.
In our Latino culture, most of us live far away from our families. I love sharing these snippets of my day so they can feel like they are a part of my children’s lives, but I like to be more private on social media.
Once I discovered the Family Album app, it became so much easier, and it’s an ideal app for moms. It is a shared album where you can privately and securely share these cherished moments.
Your family members can even comment and react to your uploads, so you get that social media vibe but in private.
Mom’s, let’s use our resources to make our lives easier, si?
