Chiqui, as she’s affectionally called, has become an international icon through the years. Her remarkable career took off in 1990, when she was chosen as the first runner-up in the Miss Venezuela beauty contest. Her beauty and elegance soon led her to conquer the Flower Queen pageant in Japan.
Her success in beauty pageants paved the way to a modeling career in her native Venezuela and later steered her to television, where she debuted as the hostess of “TV Time.” Starting in 1993, Chiqui’s image was exclusively tied to Venevisión, Venezuela’s number one TV network, thus becoming one of the country’s most charismatic celebrities. Her career continued to grow as she made the switch to Univision, where she has worked as hostess for shows like “Despierta América,” “Mira quién baila,” and more recently, “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” “Premios lo Nuestro,” and “Latin Grammys.”
Her experience and knowledge in the world of fashion and beauty have afforded Chiqui a successful career as spokesperson and entrepreneur for leading international brands. Chiqui is also the proud mother of María Elena and Carlota, whom she describes as: “The driving forces of my life. I can’t imagine my life without them by my side.”
