Chiqui Shares: Becoming A Mom At Different Stages In Your Life
“I became a mom quite young; Maria Elena was born when I was only 18 years old. Without even realizing it, she was the one that taught me how to be a mom. I was her mom and a sophomore in college at the same time. I continued to grow up with her by my side and today I can happily say that she is my best friend, my guide in many aspects of life and my confidant.
Carlota, on the other hand was born 18 years after Maria Elena. Quite a gap! It was during a totally different stage in my life. For me, one of the best rewards has been to learn that there is no limit to the love you have for a child. It is truly perplexing to realize how deeply in love you fall with a mini-person whom you just met for a few minutes after delivery.
Becoming a mom has brought immense amounts of happiness, tenderness and selfless love to my life. I could not imagine it without them. I have received so many more blessings and intangible gifts by being a mother than from any other area of my life.”
