Michelle Obama Delivers Stunning, Epic Speech For Hillary Clinton At The DNC
Today, as women, as mothers, as Latinas, as Americans, as the daughters of immigrants and as human beings, we are walking taller because of Michelle Obama’s powerful speech last night at the Democratic National Convention.
The first lady successfully and passionately touched on race, motherhood, patriotism and feminism. Detailing the experience of raising her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, in the White House, she spoke on guiding them to a strong, independent life as women. “Because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.”
While nearly two-thirds of polled Hispanics believe that America’s best days lie ahead – Michelle Obama expressed that while our country is already great, it can be greater still. “Don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country isn’t great—that somehow we need to make it great again—because this right now is the greatest country on Earth,” she told the audience. “And as my daughters prepare to set out into the world, I want a leader who is worthy of that truth.”
This impeccable speech will go down in American history as that moment when a woman showed the world the beauty, power, grace, vision, intelligence, and character that lies inside of every woman, regardless of age, race, color or background.
In case you missed it, or, like us, just want to see it again and again, here is the First Lady of the United States, and here is social liberation at its best.
Thank you Michelle Obama!
